A Blog is basically a web page or group of web pages where one gets to express their views. Blogging can also be taken as income source, where one can earn money by placing ads in their blog. Blogs are one of  the best tools for marketing.  They are very useful to market a company, a corresponding website or an interest anyone might have and want to bring awareness to. Blog are types of websites that can be considered a sort of an online diary, however the uses for a blog are infinite and the benefits are just as great.  The following are some basic steps on how to start a blog.

1. Before one starts to blog , he should select on a topic or a theme. The theme can be either personal blog  or a business related. A personal blog is where one’s interest are put forth, like blogging about bike riding , swimming , about friends etc .And a business  blog may be marketing of a certain product or company or certain issues. Whatever may be the theme , the user should have clear and valid points to express.
2. After you have selected a theme ,choose a platform to blog. A platform may be Self hosted blog or a Hosted blog .In a self hosted blog u have a domain of  your own . But in hosted blog , you post your messages in other’s web server. Even though Hosted blog have an advantage of  simple to use and easy handling and more over its free , But still one who creates the blog will have no control over the people who visits the blog. In self hosted blog you might have to buy a domain space(usually  30-50$ per year ) and then install software and other settings.
3. Now before you start posting a message( write a post) , you should plan how to express them . Use your resources(photos ,videos , links , charts  etc)  well . Strategize your ideas on how you are going to present. In some of the hosted blogs they have pre made templates for users aid, use them well .Plan the outline of your blog and make steps according to it.
4. After you have designed on how your blog should look like , make preparations for it . Posting messages are essential part of a blog . When you post a message , make sure it is unique and well written without any grammatical flaws. Also bring forth your views in a positive manner.
5. Now  publish your post (message ) and publicize them .You have a lot of ways to make it popular and bring traffic(number of people visiting your site) to your page. Submitting your web page or blog to search engines is a good way to make the blog popular
6. Its very necessary in blogging , that you roll on . It means you should continue to post new messages and views to the blog. This will not only bring more traffic to your site but also increase your PR(page rank , it states how your blog is ranked).

These basic steps are the foundations of creating a good blog.  Blogging for either fun or profit is a great way to let your views be heard around the world, and it is such an easy to use and inexpensive platform.
