How to Make Wine

- In order to make and store wines you will need a wooden cask or clay or glass jar. If these are not available, you could also use a plastic container but make sure you transfer the wine into a glass container once it is ready.
- Wines can be made out of different items like grains, fruits or even vegetables. However, in this article we will be dealing with how to make rice wine.
- The ingredients required are as follows- • 1 ¾ kilos sugar • ½ kilo raw rice • Juice of three medium sized lemons. • 30 grams of dry yeast • 125 grams raisins.
- Once you have all the above ingredients, mix them well in the container that you want to store the wine in.
- Make sure the jar you are using is clean and dry and keep it closed at all times.
- Stir the wine well once a day for 21 days.
- On the 22nd day, the wine is ready to be distilled. If you do not have a distiller to do this, you could sieve the wine using a muslin cloth. This procedure needs to be done twice or thrice before the wine can be used.
- Rice wine has a beautiful natural golden color and can be served as it is. However, if you want a darker color you can add a little caramel once you sieve it.
- The wine is now ready to be served.
Wine can be stored for years together and in fact, the longer you let it mature, the tastier it gets. One thing to keep in mind is that nothing can ruin a decent batch of wine faster than infection, so make sure that you sterilize everything before it comes into contact with your brew.
