- Make sure you have an open space where you can move easily and plenty of ventilation. Also, have rubber gloves handy as you will be dealing with lye and molding pans in the size you want your soap.

- Melt 76 oz. vegetable shortening with 48 oz. coconut oil and add 50 oz of non-virgin olive oil.
- Now choose the fragrances (oils) you like and add to the mixture. Allow to cool.
- Take the soap mold (lye mixture), make sure you are wearing gloves, and grease it with the shortening. Once both mixtures have cooled, slowly add the lye to the oils you have previously prepared. If the mixture is bubbling as you stir, slow down.
- The soap will start maintaining shape and you can test this by letting the soap drip into pot from spoon and if it traces before resting into the mix then you are ready for any additives you may want to use. (colors, etc…)
- Now it’s time to wrap the mold and leave for at least 18 hours. Don’t uncover until the mixture cools.
- Once time is up, uncover and let sit for another 12 hours.
- If you’re using a large pan, turn mold over and cut into bars. You can also use decorative molds for something more fun and creative.
