In this ever changing technological world of super high speed Internet, downloading has gotten faster, and files have become easier to download and to share with the world. How is this possible you may ask. Well one of the most common ways of file sharing these days is through something called torrents. A torrent is a file that is carried by one person, which is called a seeder. Within time, people will find that file, and start to download it off of the one carrying it, these are called leechers. Given more time, more and more people will jump onto the band wagon and start downloading the file, therefore sharing more of the file with everyone. Here are the simple instructions on how to download torrents:
1. The first step is to download and install a torrent client. Whether it be BitTorrent, Utorrent, Bitlord, Azerus. If you do a search on Google for torrent clients you will get a plethora of sites you can download various clients from. They are pretty much all the same, so go with the one you want to.
2. The next step is to actually find the torrents. Again, a simple search online for torrents will list websites that will allow you to download the torrent file from them. Again, they will pretty much contain all the same torrents to a certain degree, but some people will have favorites that they download off of.
3. When you get to the torrent site, you need to search for a file to download. Let’s say, you wanted to download a music file. You search for the name of the song, or the band whatever you want.
4. When you find the torrent you want to download, you press the download button. Remember it will not download the full file, only a part of it that you will be sharing with the rest of the people, and while you are sharing it, they are giving more back to you.
5. Once you have downloaded the torrent, you will want to have it open in the torrent client. For example if you chose Utorrent as your client, then the torrent will open in that particular program.
6. Wait. All you need to do is sit and wait. The torrent will download, and when it is finished you will have the whole file that you have been waiting for.
7. Enjoy, and share. Once you have downloaded your file, and you are listening to it, keep it in the same folder that it was downloaded into. And let others share it off of you as well. Remember, they let you have the file, so it’s always nice to let other people share it too.
So there you have it, and congratulations. If you follow these simple instructions on how to download torrents, you should have downloaded your first torrent. But please remember, once you have downloaded something, and you have stopped becoming a leecher, become a seeder for a while, and let everyone else download off of you.
