How to Clean a Laptop Screen
Okay, your looking at your computer and wondering how come it looks so blurry? You adjust the contrast and brightness settings then you realize that it’s not the screen but a build up of dirt, dust, and fingerprints. Here is an easy way about how to clean a laptop screen that will be helpful in correcting this problem.
- You will need distilled water, white vinegar, and a lint free cloth or even a t-shirt. You can use alcohol solutions, ammonia, or any other type of strong solution but honestly its not recommended. Simply because they are harsh solvents that can damage your screen by affecting the components inside or harming the surface.
- Mix the water and vinegar in about a 50/50 split. Place the solution in a spray bottle or small container that can be easily used with a cloth.
- You can spray or dip the rag with the solution. The key is not to get the rag soaking wet but just damp.
- Next, you want to start to wipe the screen in a circular or even manner. Do not apply to much pressure to the cloth. Pressing to hard on the screen can permanently damage it.
- Keep in mind you never ever want to spray any solution directly on your screen. Spraying solution directly on your screen increases the chances of you getting water inside of the components of your laptop. Your laptop screen and keyboard are practically a part of each other unlike a desktop computer. Also, a laptop has not been designed to be water proof. Unless they were manufactured for that reason laptops cannot take a lot of liquid or moisture.
- Also remember to use distilled water since tap water can leave mineral spots on your screen.
- Tissues, napkins, and toilet paper are not the best products to clean your screen with simply because they can scratch or damage your screen with their loose fibers.
