Nothing is the world beats a charcoal grill when it comes to cooking outside. There are many benefits to this type of cooking, flavor and health being two of them. But perhaps one of the reasons why charcoal grill cooking is such a popular activity for a hot summer weekend, is that is often a great social activity to be down with friends. While the propane BBQ has made charcoal cooking a rarity, an aficionado of good food will tell you there is a HUGE difference. There is no reason why you need to spend hundreds of dollars to get a good charcoal grill, as we have a slick solution that can be done on a tight budget. We are going to show you how to make your own charcoal grill, and it is going to be easy to do. One thing to note about the how to project below, if you decide to use the bottom of a metal barrel for the base of your grill, then you will need additional steps and tools which are not outlined here. If you access to a large truck or tractor tire rim, that is our preferred option. Good luck, and enjoy the project, which will be much easier to do when there is a steak on the grill and beer in hand.

Things you will need;

Tire Rim from a Large Truck / Tractor OR Bottom of a Metal Barrel with folded edges (about 14″ high)

A Shovel

Bright Colored Spray Paint

Water Source

Gravel or Rocks

15lbs (or more) bag charcoal

A Large Grill Rack which will fit on your tire rim or barrel

Step by Step Instructions on How to Make Your Charcoal Grill

Select a place outdoor in your backyard, where you want as a permanent place for your charcoal grill. The grill is going to be dug into the ground, so an area which is uncovered and not close to a building, and an area where it will be ok to do some limited digging (i.e. not the nicely manicured lawn).

The Tire rim (preferably) or barrel is going to form the base of the charcoal grill. Take the base of the grill and lay it on the ground where the grill is going to be fixed.

Now, take out your can of spray paint, and mark the circumference of your base clearly. Remove the base, and then allow the paint to dry.

Once dry, dig out the marked region using your shovel. The how does not need to be deep, approximately 6 – 8 inches, but it should be kept as level as possible.

Take your base and place it on the ground and in the hole. The top of the base should be about 8″ above the ground. VERY IMPORTANT: If you are using a barrel, remember that you need to make sure the edges are folded over, so there are no sharp edges exposed.

Once the base is place in the hole, pack it in with dirt to secure it to the ground. Use either a hose or a bucket of water to wet the surrounding soil and then pack the dirt in again.

Use the gravel or rocks and place them around the exposed base. This is going to protect the grill, and provide some needed stability. Make sure to create a solid foundation around the grill, or the grill will not last very long. There is no hard rule on how much rock is needed, but an 8″ thick wall is a good baseline.

You can now put the charcoal inside the grill, and the rack on top. The only thing left to do is light, and add the juice steaks.

You are now ready to enjoy charcoal grill, which truly is yours. There is something to be said about the satisfaction of a successful How To project, but making your own charcoal grill truly will make your dinners taste better.

Some final notes;

You can also use this to create a wood burning grill, simply get a small roaring fire inside and burn down to coals, which is more suitable for grilling.

Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby at all times you are using the grill, just in case.

Do not leave unattended, EVER.

Enjoy your charcoal grill.

Oh, by the way, I like mine medium rare, so if you feel the need to express your gratitude for this little set of instructions, I will work for food.

To start brewing you will need to acquire some special equipment. All of this can be purchased for about $100 from a brewer’s store. Here is a list of the equipment you will need.

5 Gallon brew bucket with lid

5 Gallon glass Carboy

2.5 Gallon boiling pot

5 Gallon boiling pot

Floating brewers thermometer

Siphon

50-60 12oz beer bottles (not the screw cap kind)

bottle capping tool

50-60 bottle caps

Food safe sanitizer.

Cheese cloth or fine mesh bag.

Here is a list of ingredients you will need to purchase from a brewers store to make your beer. There are many types of beer so this is a general list that can be adapted depending on the type of beer you want to make. You can get recipe cards from a brew store or online.

Grain blend (see note 1)

Malt (see note 1)

Hops (see note 2)

Yeast (see note 3)

Sugar

5 gallons water

*** Note 1 Different grains can be blended to make different types of beer. As a general rule, darker and toasted grains will be used with dark malts to make darker ales and stouts. Lighter grains and lighter malts will make light or amber ales. A 5-gallon beer recipe will normally use 2-3 pounds of grain made up of a blend of 3-6 types of grain. You will typically use about 8-9 pounds of Malt.

*** Note 2 There are many different types of hops giving your beer unique flavors, speak to staff at the brew store or consult the recipe card to select the correct hops. Typically each beer will use three types of hops.

*** Note 3 There are many choices of yeast, which will all flavor your beer differently. English yeasts tend to be used for darker ales European yeasts tend to be more appropriate for lighter ales, but this is not a hard and fast rule. Check your recipe or speak to staff at the brewer store to select the appropriate yeast for the beer you are making. Also some yeast will come in a smack pack which you will need to break the seal and allow to cultivate for up to five hours before adding to your brew. Other yeasts come in powder form that you will simply sprinkle into you mixture at the correct time.

Before you begin clean your kitchen thoroughly, using kitchen cleaners. This is important as yeast can easily be contaminated. Wipe clean every surface that you will be using to make your beer. As beer making is a process that will take several days, each time you are going to anything with your beer, clean the area first. Follow these step by step instructions.

Heat 1.5 gallon of water in your 2.5 gallon boiling pot to 165F

Place your grain blend in the net bag or wrap in cheesecloth.

Turn off the heat and steep grains in the water for 45mins turning the grain bag occasionally. (It is like steeping a huge tea bag)

Remove and discard the grains.

Skim off any foam from the surface of the water, which is now flavored and colored from the grain steeping.

Transfer the contents of the 2.5 gallon pot into your 5 Gallon pot.

Add 2 more gallons of water into the boiling pot and start to bring the temperature up to a gentle rolling boil.

Whilst the mixture is still heating slowly stir in and dissolve the malt, making sure that it doesn’t congeal on the bottom of the pot. You don’t want it to burn and caramelize.

Once you are at a rolling boil turn off the heat. Add the first of your three hops

Set a timer for 20 minutes and restart the rolling boil.

At the 20 minute mark turn off the heat and stir in your second hop

Restart the boil for a further 40 minutes. And then turn off and add the third hop.

Allow to cool. (you can speed up the process by running cold water around the pot)

Sanitize the brew bucket, siphon, and bubble valve in food safe sanitizer

Siphon the mixture into the brew bucket

Add the yeast and top off the water up to the 5 gallon mark.

Seal the bucket and insert the bubble valve into the hole in the lid of the bucket.

Put the brew bucket in a cool place. After about two days you will see bubbling in the bubble valve, after about five the bubbles will almost stop.

Sanitize the glass carboy, siphon, bubble valve and bung.

Siphon the mixture from the brew bucket into the glass carboy leaving behind any sludge. Seal with the bung and insert the bubble valve

Place the carboy into a cool place and leave for about four days or until all bubbling in the mixture ceases.

Sanitize your brew bucket, bottles, capping tool and bottle caps.

Dissolve 1 cup of sugar in a small pan of lukewarm water.

Siphon the beer from the carboy into the brew bucket

Add the sugar water to the brew bucket.

Siphon the beer into the bottles and cap using the capping tools

Allow 2 weeks to carbonate before serving. (See note 4) Note 4 After 2 weeks the beer should be ready to drink, but the flavor will continue to develop over the next few weeks. It will reach its prime six to eight weeks after bottling and should be good for about a year before it begins to deteriorate.

So, if you follow the above steps on how to brew beer at home, you will end up with a nice brew to share with family and friends. Few things can be as satisfying as serving your own homemade beer into a frosty mug on a hot sumer dat. Good luck.

Wining and dining together with family is what brings out the whole essence of a festive season. There is no better way to begin a lovely evening of joy and togetherness than by raising a meaningful toast with homemade wine because both, the wine and the words have a personal touch. Rich wine served in elegant wine glasses add to the beauty of a celebration. Read on to learn how to make good wine.

In order to make and store wines you will need a wooden cask or clay or glass jar. If these are not available, you could also use a plastic container but make sure you transfer the wine into a glass container once it is ready.

Wines can be made out of different items like grains, fruits or even vegetables. However, in this article we will be dealing with how to make rice wine.

The ingredients required are as follows- • 1 ¾ kilos sugar • ½ kilo raw rice • Juice of three medium sized lemons. • 30 grams of dry yeast • 125 grams raisins.

Once you have all the above ingredients, mix them well in the container that you want to store the wine in.

Make sure the jar you are using is clean and dry and keep it closed at all times.

Stir the wine well once a day for 21 days.

On the 22nd day, the wine is ready to be distilled. If you do not have a distiller to do this, you could sieve the wine using a muslin cloth. This procedure needs to be done twice or thrice before the wine can be used.

Rice wine has a beautiful natural golden color and can be served as it is. However, if you want a darker color you can add a little caramel once you sieve it.

The wine is now ready to be served.

Wine can be stored for years together and in fact, the longer you let it mature, the tastier it gets. One thing to keep in mind is that nothing can ruin a decent batch of wine faster than infection, so make sure that you sterilize everything before it comes into contact with your brew. Now that you have learnt how to make fine wine, you can serve this elegant drink at any auspicious occasion or even at a little family get-together. Cheers!

Planning on attending or hosting a Toga themed party the first thing you must do is plan your dress accordingly. Whether male or female the toga is most likely the easy form of dress to craft out of pretty much things you have lying around the house. It’s as simple as a bed sheet some safety pins and if you’re in the mood to fancy it up a bit add some leaves from a house plant and maybe some rope to tie it all together. Either way use your imagination and be creative.

Search the house to an old or unused bed sheet. The most commonly used color bed sheet would be white or off white in nature. But any color could be used if you’re going out to make a bolder statement.

If you are male you will fold the sheet in half width wise so to cover only the bottom portion of your body ( if that is preferred ) If female fold the towel length wise making sure to wrap yourself like you would with a towel after bathing. Males would also wrap the sheet around themselves like a towel after bathing.

Once the bed sheet is wrapped around the body placing a safety pin to secure the overlapping pieces together is suggested. Just to ensure a tight snug fit and to help keep the parts that are ment to be covered stays covered.

With the remained of the bed sheet it can be draped over the shoulder, or gathered to the side, or made into another layer for more coverage if the party is done in the colder months. Be creative.

If draping the remainder of the bed sheet over the shoulder, be sure to secure it to the opposite side of the sheet with another safety pin. Helps keep the sheet in place and not slip off or out of place.

If you are choosing to add accessories or embellishments. Take the time to gather such items like green leaves, or a piece of rope. Use your imagination, have fun with it.

Once placing the accents is complete grab a pair of sandals or go barefoot and have a great time. The kind of time Zeus or Aphrodite would have had.

So, there you have it a full Greek Toga, which will make you the hit of the party. So follow these easy steps on how to make a toga and you will have no problems. Just make sure that you don’t have too much fun!!!

A lot of people love the scheme of tie dyed items. They represent peace and a want for eternal love in the world. I’m here to tell you exactly how to make the best looking and amazing tie dyed items. If you follow this guide correctly you’ll have amazing pieces of art after you are done.

Collect the following materials: Four large buckets, a water hose plugged into a source of water, a bag of rubber bands, items to tie dye, a stirring stick, and dyes.

Take each of the four large buckets and fill them up about three fourths of the way full with water.

Take one of each color of dye, there are usually four, but if you have more just get more buckets, and put them in each bucket.

Stir the buckets with stirring sticks you have until the dye is all the way mixed. The dye should be a very deep version of whatever color you put in the bucket. You should be able to easily tell when you can stop stirring.

Take all the items you have to tie die and the rubber bands to an area a little away from the buckets to give yourself ample room for the next step.

Take the items and sort of roll them up the best you can, the difficulty of rolling the items will depend on the type of items. Put rubber bands on the items in different spots. There really is no pattern for this just put them on and you’ll get different results depending on where you put them.

Dip parts of the items into the buckets. You can overlap colors or make the colors all have separate spots, it’s your call.

After you’re are done dipping all of the objects lay them out in the grass to dry.

After about one hour and thirty minutes, go and check on the items. If they seem to be dry remove the rubber bands and see what the tie dyed items look like.

If you follow this simple how to guide you will end up with amazing results from tie dyeing. Enjoy your experiences and I hope you make great products!

Having a good pair of jeans is a must for any wardrobe in the American landscape. Jeans are the all purpose pants that are worn by many people. Jeans are manufactured and designed in many styles and colors. Sometime’s though, people get a pair of jeans that they like but the denim color is too strong. So they realize that this particular pair of jeans would look better if they were faded. So, here is some helpful information for any person wanting to learn how to fade jeans.

The first step is to get some bleach, a stick about 3 feet long and a pair of old clothes you don’t mind getting bleach spots on.

The next step is to go to your bathroom and fill up your tub with water. You should fill it up to around 8 to 10 inches of water.

Next thing you should do is to take the the bleach and add it to the water. The more bleach you add the more your jeans will fade. Mix the bleach into the water with the stick. By the way you should use water proof dish gloves or any kind of gloves that will keep the bleach from off of your skin.

You should place your jeans flat and evenly in the water. Do not put a wrinkled pair of jeans in the water. If you have to iron them flat to get the wrinkles out. This ensures a more even way of fading.

After the jeans are placed in the bleach solution they should be rotated every 6 minutes for at least half an hour.

After the half hour is up you can check the color. Remember that clothes appear to be darker than what they actually are when they’re wet. So try and get your jeans out 2 shades darker than the faded color your that you desire.

Let out the bleach water then rinse your jeans in cold water for about 5 – 10 minutes.

Then take your jeans to the washer and wash the bleach smell out of them.

I would then recommend that you hang dry your faded jeans instead of drying them in the dryer. If you do decide to use the dryer then use it on a low setting. Keep in mind that bleach weakens fabric so this is why I recommend avoid using the dryer. The bleaching process might cause the fabric to split when placed in a hot dryer.

Well that is pretty much what needs to be done when you want to know how to fade jeans. Fading jeans is a simple process that helps to bring out an individuals style and look that’s best for them.

We can all simply go to the grocery store and buy many different kinds of soap, but where’s the fun in that? Many people don’t realize how easy it actually is to make soap, but with a few ingredients you can be well on your way to creating a fragrant soap just the way you like!

Make sure you have an open space where you can move easily and plenty of ventilation. Also, have rubber gloves handy as you will be dealing with lye and molding pans in the size you want your soap.

Dissolve 24 oz of lye in a large bowl with soft water. Always add lye to water, never add water after lye, and stir in slowly. The mixture will heat up be careful- set aside to cool.

Melt 76 oz. vegetable shortening with 48 oz. coconut oil and add 50 oz of non-virgin olive oil.

Now choose the fragrances (oils) you like and add to the mixture. Allow to cool.

Take the soap mold (lye mixture), make sure you are wearing gloves, and grease it with the shortening. Once both mixtures have cooled, slowly add the lye to the oils you have previously prepared. If the mixture is bubbling as you stir, slow down.

The soap will start maintaining shape and you can test this by letting the soap drip into pot from spoon and if it traces before resting into the mix then you are ready for any additives you may want to use. (colors, etc…)

Now it’s time to wrap the mold and leave for at least 18 hours. Don’t uncover until the mixture cools.

Once time is up, uncover and let sit for another 12 hours.

If you’re using a large pan, turn mold over and cut into bars. You can also use decorative molds for something more fun and creative.

It takes about a month to a month ½ for soap to cure.

Now you can make your own soaps with this easy step by step how to make soap recipe! Always make sure you use safety when making soap. These mixtures heat up and cool down throughout the process, so always wear gloves!! Goggles are another safety measure and you may want to use, especially when working with children. Good luck and have fun creating your own scented soaps!Outline of Article How To Make Soap- a step …
